AI Cannot Be Listed as an Author

Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.

Human authors remain responsible for the manuscript and must satisfy the journal's authorship requirements.

Disclosure

Where generative AI has made a substantive contribution to the preparation of a manuscript, authors should disclose its use.

The disclosure should identify:

  • The AI system/tool used;

AI and Peer Review

Reviewers must protect the confidentiality of unpublished manuscripts.

Reviewers should not upload confidential manuscript content to public AI systems where doing so could expose unpublished research or confidential information.

The reviewer's independent scholarly judgment remains essential.
